Vinnie Paul was officially laid to rest this past Saturday, June 30th at 3:33pm surrounded by friends and family in Arlington, Texas. Among the people who spoke at Vinnie's funeral were Grim Reaper guitarist and Vinnie’s longtime friend Nick Bowcott, one of Vinnie and his brother Dime's idols, guitarist Ace Frehley of KISS, SiriusXM Liquid Metal host Jose Mangin and Paul Shortino of Rough Cutt.
Vinnie was then put to rest, buried in a KISS Kasket just like his brother, right next to his brother at the Moore Funeral Home in Arlington.
A who's who of heavy metal showed up for the services including Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, Disturbed's David Draiman, Lamb of God's Chris Adler, Anthrax's Charlie Benante, Fozzy's Chris Jericho, among others.
The public memorial was held the next day, at 3:33pm (Vinnie and Dime had a thing for threes) and included video messages from Ozzy Osbourne, Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, Alice In Chains' Jerry Cantrell, and Pearl Jam/Soundgarden drummer Mall Cameron.
Phil Anselmo also sent in a quick video message, keeping it short and sweet: “Vince, always have love in my heart for you, man. Rest in peace.”
