So recently all of us dudes from MetalSucks, Metal Injection, and 1000 Knives were sitting around smoking peyote out of a dead mule's skull (y'know, like you do) when someone was all, "Dudes! Our CMJ Showcase last year was pretty much THE BEST PARTY EVER. All of the bands were AMAZING. Skeletonwitch SLAYED. Kvelertak played their first NYC show EVER and DESTROYED. Hell, we wrecked that joint so bad that we weren't even invited back this year, and one of us actually had to move to the other side of the country just to hide! How are we ever gonna top it???" And then someone else was like, "What if we got PIG DESTROYER to play THEIR FIRST NEW YORK-AREA SHOW IN MORE THAN THREE YEARS?"
And so that's what we did!
You read that correctly: Pig Destroyer, the best grindcore band on the face of the planet, are going to play their first and ONLY New York-area show in more than three years at The Third Annual MetalSucks / Metal Injection / 1000 Knives CMJ Showcase on Thursday, October 18 at Public Assembly in Brooklyn — just days before the release of their incredible new album, Book Burner! And they ain't comin' alone: support will be provided by KEN Mode, Early Graves, and Encrust. Holy moly, did we put together a ridiculously great show or what? You're all very welcome.
Tickets are $17 on the night of the show, but just $15 in advance — and they're on sale at this link right now. And yes, Mike Wohlberg from tFk! Illustration will be selling limited edition prints of the painfully cool concert poster he's designed for us at the event, so clear some wall space!
It's gonna be the party of the year, and we can't wait. See ya there!
