Empire State Bastard is the new progressive grindcore band featuring Biffy Clyro guitarist and vocalist Simon Neil, former Oceansize vocalist Mike Vennart, and Bitch Falcon bassist Naomi Macleod. While Empire State Bastard has yet to release any new music, they've got one hell of a drummer for their debut UK tour – Dave Lombardo. Because apparently the guy isn't busy enough being in Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Cross, and heading up a new solo project with his wife.
Empire State Bastard is also scheduled for festivals like Hellfest, Download, ArcTanGent, and 2000Trees throughout 2023. Whether or not Lombardo will be a part of any of those, or any of Empire State Bastard's recorded material, remains to be seen.
