We've had so much fun with the Gathering of the Juggalos since 2009. There have been some amazing commercials, some with Vanilla Ice even that makes every year's announcement equally exciting.
This year, it looks like bands are being announced ahead of the highly anticipated commercial. Today, perhaps the most obvious and sensical booking has happened.
Emmure is confirmed for the Gathering of the Juggalos.
I mean, could you think of a more appropriate band? Other metal-ish acts booked on the show are Mushroomhead and Puddle of Mudd (will they even show up?)
I would say I'm curious to see how juggalos respond to Emmure's chugs, but we all know they'll eat it right up. It fits right in with the Juggalo aesthetic. There was even a press release announcing this:
"As controversial as they are talented, Emmure delivers some of the most in-your-face metal to ever come out of Queens, New York. After building a solid reputation as one of the fiercest underground metal bands in America thanks to albums like 'Goodbye to the Gallows' and 'Eternal Enemies', Emmure is guaranteed to lay waste to the Gathering grounds under an onslaught of pure head banging rock madness. Prepare yourself for moshing on a level seldom seen before, because once Emmure takes the stage… they will simply set reality as we know it, on fire!"
The Gathering of the Juggalos has been kind to metalheads. Max Cavalera previously said it was an honor to play the fest, Cannibal Corpse had a pretty healthy pit last year and these fine specimen were caught watching Fear Factory.
