METALLICA's Orion Music & More Fest 2013 Lineup Announced

Metallica is back for round 2 of it's fully curated festival. It's happening in Detroit at Belle Isle, June 8th and 9th, and today, the festival announced it's very eclectic lineup.

Metallica will headline both nights of the event, with Red Hot Chili Peppers co-headlining. Not too shabby.

Oh, but where's the metal you ask? Deftones, Tomahawk, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Battlecross, The Bronx, Fu Manchu All Shall Perish, and Cauldron have been confirmed for the festival.

Coicidentally, DEATH has also been confirmed, but ummm, not the death metal Death, this Death. Who knew there was more than one Death?

Non-metal acts include Gogol Bordello, Rise Against, Bassnectar, FLAG (the sad Black Flag reunion band), Dropkick Murphys, Silversun Pickups, Foals, Destroid, The Joy Formidable, Datsik, Borgore, Japandroids, Dillon Francis, Adventure Club, 12th Planet, Death Grips, Dirty Phonics, The Dirtbombs, FIDLAR, The Orwells.

Tickets will be available this Friday, March 1st, for the very reasonable price of $150 for two days. Here's the trailer for the event:

Last year, Metallica played both The Black Album and Ride The Lightning in full. So far, there have been no promises as to playing one of their releases in full. They did announced that there will be many side attractions for attendees. Much like last year, fans will see James Hetfield's Custom Car & Motorcycle Show, Kirk Hammett's Crypt, Lars Ulrich's Hit the Lights Film Tent and Robert Trujillo's Vans Vert Ramp, as well as the Metallica Museum, all fun distractions while trying to take a break from music.

The Metal Injection crew ventured out to the first iteration of the festival last year and had nothing but good things to say about the experience. Watch our report from the festival right here.
