The legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO is opening with limited capacity just in time for its 80th birthday. The amphitheatre will allow 2,500 of its over 9,500 seats to be filled for any given event, while adding that "conditions and event capacities may be updated and hopefully increase throughout the summer." Red Rocks Amphitheatre will begin hosting shows once again come April 23. The venue has also launched a whole page on their site dedicated to their COVID-19 protoocls, which you can check out here.
The United States is in a tough situation right now. On one hand, 16% of the population is currently fully vaccinated and 26% are on their first shot. States like New York are opening shows again in limited capacity as well, which is great! Entertainers have suffered long enough. On the other hand, the threat of a fourth wave is extremely real. So the question then becomes how do you have events safely and get everyone vaccinated fast enough while also curbing the fourth wave?
