Drain as well. They didn't reunite or anything, they're just playing there.

It Dies Today 2023

Furnace Fest 2023 will take place between September 23 and 24 at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL, and their lineup just keeps getting more impressive. Furnace Fest organizers have now announced the return of Head Automatica, the project of Glassjaw's Daryl Palumbo, a reunited It Dies Today, and hardcore band Drain.

The lineup now runs as:

  • Training For Utopia
  • The Callous Daoboys
  • Gorilla Biscuits
  • Foreign Hands
  • Between The Buried And Me
  • Head Automatica
  • It Dies Today
  • Drain

On the addition of Head Automatica, Furnace Fest partner Mike Ziemer had this to offer: "Head Automatica's first album, Decadence, debuted the week I moved into my college dorm. I know that because there was a program called MyTunes that let anyone on the same local area network share music, and EVERYONE in the dorm was talking about it. The entire album served as the start of college soundtrack for many of us.

"When Popaganda released in 2006, my roommate was on the Warner Records street team and filled our apartment with shirts, posters, CDs, and everything you could imagine to promote the album.

"Until a couple of weeks ago, I thought that was as full circle of a moment as I would ever have with Head Automatica. I have dreamed of booking them for YEARS, counting the days until they finally announced that they were playing shows again.

"Days turned into weeks, months, and years. After 11 years of waiting, I am ecstatic to share that Head Automatica will return to the stage – and not just any stage, but Furnace Fest of all places! Please welcome the one-and-only, Head Automatica!"
