Corey Taylor, frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour is the next to be roasted, this time at "Roast on the Range," part of Rock on the Range weekend .
Metal musicians being a part of a roast can typically be a touchy area unless the right person is involved. Last year, I attended the Roast of Dee Snider, and Lita Ford was visibly upset being the brunt of most of the jokes mostly because she was the only female on the dais, making her an easy target.
Taylor seems like he can take a joke, and he'll be taking plenty from roastmaster Sebastian Bach comedians Jim Florentine, Craig Gass, Don Jamieson and Brian Posehn, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, and Slipknot's M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan with the night's DJ and MC being SiriusXM Liquid Metal's Jose Mangin.
A portion of the proceeds from the roast will go to MusiCares, which provides a "a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need, including emergency financial and medical assistance, addiction recovery services, and more."
Taylor had this to say about the roast:
"Honestly, I don't know what to say. I'm a little nervous, a little excited, and of course a little gassy. But that could just be the excitement, I'm really looking forward to it, but knowing my friends and the possibilities for who could be a part of this, I have no idea what I'm getting into!"
Tickets are on sale for $75 on Ticketmaster.
