I missed Slipknot when they played in Dallas earlier this week, because of work, so I'm a little bummed out. However, I received a press release earlier stating Slipknot's final performance of the year, the August 18 and final date of Knotfest, will be streamed live on Pay-Per-View. And since I can't commit the drive to Iowa, I can at least see the band play on the Internet.
Early bird buyers get hooked up with "Slipknot Saturdays", starting July 14, that shows exclusive Slipknot performance footage and a road-to-Knotfest-type documentary. The whole thing only costs $14.95, but the price will rise a couple bucks to $19.95 the week before the show.
“One of our long-time dreams, is finally coming to fruition with the creation of KNOTFEST,” says M. Shawn Crahan aka 'Clown' of Slipknot. “Our goal was to create a festival experience which screamed our vision. It means everything for everyone to see the live spectacle we’re creating in the flesh, but we understand some fans around the world can’t be at the show. We've now made it possible for you to be there in spirit–so join us Live on August 18th.”
You'll be able to watch the Knotfest performance on a website called Event View Live, which launched today, and be able to access the video for 30 days. The day-of-show footage will feature a behind-the-scenes tour of the festival grounds, pre-show interviews with the bands (and the smoking hot Mistress Juliya), and even post-show interviews with the guys in Slipknot.
That's worth $20 bucks.
