Last week, Corey Taylor tweeted that Slipknot is planning a North American tour, which was great news considering he was unsure of even staying in the band after the death of bassist Paul Gray. With a new tour, there are always speculations of a new album dropping as well, but not this time. The band's percussionist, M. Shawn Crahan, wrote on his Facebook page that there was, indeed, a tour, but it was 'too soon' for an album, as they haven't wrote any new songs.
"I also wanted to tell everyone straight from my mouth because you may have heard it already anyway, but Slipknot will be touring by next June in America only, but that does not mean things will not change and as they do I will along with others tell you our family first. No album yet because it is to soon and there are no songs yet because the band needs to come together to write this next one. I can not wait to feel the ideas like choking on color. Everything happens for a reason, so be ready."
