STEVE VAI, ADRIAN BELEW, TONY LEVIN, & DANNY CAREY Form KING CRIMSON Cover Band BEAT, Tour Dates Announced

We can expect a potent blend of technical mastery and progressive rock exploration.

Beat 2024

Steve Vai, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, and Tool's drumming maestro Danny Carey have joined forces to create a new supergroup, aptly named Beat. But what's truly mind-blowing? They're set to resurrect the iconic sounds of King Crimson, under the guidance of none other than Robert Fripp himself.

Fripp announced his enthusiastic support for the project on his Facebook page, revealing he even suggested the band's name: "This is the project that Adrian Belew called me about last Autumn. A project that I support and fully encourage, and discussed with Steve Vai recently at McCabes in Santa Monica (March 3, 2024). Even, I suggested the name."

This isn't entirely out of the blue. In a recent interview with Ultimate Guitar's "On the Record" podcast, Vai hinted at a mysterious project coming up in the fall, mentioning the difficulty of learning the music.

"Personally, it's gonna take me all summer to get this music under my fingers because the guitar player that played in this band was a complete beast, an absolute animal, and very difficult parts."

Considering his comments and the caliber of musicians involved, the pieces now perfectly fit the puzzle: a tribute to the complex and challenging works of King Crimson. Color us excited, and catch the band at one of the dates below. Get your tickets here.
