So many good albums, so little time. Seattle's Agalloch, who I fell in love with deeply a few years ago through their atmospherical opus Ashes Against The Grain and have constantly came back and been amazed by how huge this band sounds. Whenever there is a rain storm and I am in a shitty mood, the Agalloch goes blasting and suddenly I feel great. So I was really pumped when I saw that the band have FINISHED recording an EP. It's always great when a band announces an album after they're done recording it, which means, theoretically, less wait time. Here is the update, via their Facebook page:
Agalloch have completed the recording of their forthcoming EP entitled “Faustian Echoes”. With acclaimed engineer Billy Anderson at the helm, the band recorded a 20 minute long conceptual and colossal track live onto two-inch tape. The recording took place at Jackpot Studio in Portland, Oregon during March 24th-25th. A release date has yet to be set, but we will keep you all updated through our official Facebook page. This EP will appear on both LP and CD. We have made a photo album of photos taken by Veleda Thorsson of this session.
A 20 minute conceptual track? Excuse me while I go change my underwear, as I have just splooged all over it. Sorry for that mental image.
