More Mastodon news! Last night, the band posted a teaser of new music and gave us the first look at the album art, for their new album, which we speculated would be called Eos. Turns out, the album title is E.O.S., or Emperor of Sand.
Details leaked from the Australian iTunes listing. Emperor of Sand will be released on March 31 via Reprise Records with the following tracklisting:
01 – “Sultan’s Curse”
02 – “Show Yourself”
03 – “Precious Stones”
04 – “Steambreather”
05 – “Roots Remain”
06 – “Word To The Wise”
07 – “Ancient Kingdom”
08 – “Clandestiny”
09 – “Andromeda”
10 – “Scorpion Breath”
11 – “Jaguar God”
The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien, who also worked with them on Crack the Skye. The lead single, "Sultan's Curse" is expected to surface tomorrow, January 27th. And, the album art has also been revealed:
