While we wait for a new Alcest record, the band has announced they're reissuing their 2012 album Les Voyages de l'âme in a variety of formats. They include:
- A hardcover artbook edition, featuring a 60-page hardcover artbook that includes the CD with two bonus live tracks, a preface by Neige, liner notes by Roadburn Festival mastermind Walter Hoeijmakers, translations of the French lyrics into English, images, artwork sketches and photos from the Les Voyages de l'âme era.
- Hologram vinyl, featuring a handcrafted, gold-framed hologram vinyl LP that reflects light in all colours of the rainbow, which is strictly limited to 100 hand-numbered copies.
- Vinyl picture disc, which is what you think it is.
The reissues of Les Voyages de l'âme will be out on April 28. Pre-orders are available here. Les Voyages de l'âme was recorded by Markus Stock at Klangschmiede Studio E, Mellrichstadt, and mixed and mastered by Neb Xort. The album was given cover art by Fursy Teyssier, designed by Valnoir, and features photos from Andy Julia.
As for new Alcest, all we know is that the band completed writing the follow-up to their 2019 album Spiritual Instinct last year.
"I just finished writing the music of our next album," said frontman Neige. "It took me a while but I am happy and it’s gonna be a really emotional one I think. Now ready to play these new songs with [drummer] Winterhalter and start working together on pre-productions."
