A few weeks ago, we reported that The Haunted is basically over, with only two members of the band not officially quitting yet. Guitarist Anders Björler was the most shocking departure, as the band was basically his idea. Anders will keep busy in the coming months with some At The Gates shows, but for right now, he has a more pressing matters to attend to… a new solo album.
Over the weekend, Anders revealed on the project's Facebook page that he is working on a new project, which he stressed was not metal, and that "those of you who are familiar with my soundtrack/movie stuff for The Haunted and At The Gates documentaries will know somewhat to expect…"
Further inspection on the page shows that it will be an instrumental solo project inspired by Italian film music (60/70/80s), post rock, ambient, progressive, jazz, and Swedish folk music. So, absolutely not metal at all, but still intriguing.
There is no word on when a release is expected, but we will surely keep you posted. Anders also released this screenshot of one month of working in ProTools will get you:
