One might not expect brutal death metal to come from the plains of South Dakota, but Angerot is here to slay any notion of the contrary with their latest single, "Below the Deep and Dreamless Sleep."
Formed in Sioux Falls in 2017, the death metallers continue the Boss HM-2 pedal worship seen on their debut The Splendid Iniquity, but the quartet fi nd themselves leaving the Swedish influences behind for more straight-forward death and black metal ferocity.
Angerot's second album, The Divine Apostate, will be released March 27 via Redefining Darkness Records, and "Below the Deep and Dreamless Sleep" will have you screaming along until then.

The song's catchy lyrics–"I am not meant for this world, and this world is not meant for me"–are irrefutably sinister.
Recorded by the band and mixed/mastered by Andreas Linnemann, the sophomore effort features guest appearances by Snowy Shaw (ex-King Diamond, ex-Mercyful Fate), Terrance Hobbs (Suffocation) and Ben Ash (Carcass, Satyricon).
"'Below the Deep and Dreamless Sleep' is a good representation of what we strove to accomplish with The Divine Apostate," say the band. "As a whole, this new album is darker and far more intense than our last."
