Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine was diagnosed with throat cancer in June, though he says he and his team of doctors remain optimistic about treatment. It recently appeared as though the new Megadeth record was still underway, and while it is, guitarist Kiko Loureiro has made it known that they are not doing any of the recording right now. Loureiro says the band is just writing a bunch and taking things day by day.
Now Megadeth has posted a photo of Mustaine writing lyrics, which means the record is still happening and Mustaine is absolutely a trooper through his treatment. Megadeth is working with producer Chris Rakestraw, who has worked with bands like Children Of Bodom, Danzig, Black Label Society, and Megadeth on their previous effort Dystopia.
