Dimmu Borgir has been relatively silent since its controversial Abrahadabra record in 2010. The most recent thing we heard from the group was back in March of this year when vocalist and keyboardist Shagrath posted up that the group was working on new riffs, which is promising but not indicative of anything definitely coming up. Now we have something a little more substantial! Shagrath recently took to Facebook to post the following videos, which I urge you to pay attention to the hashtags.

Alright, so it's pre-production and the group is headed to the studio. Seven hours later came this, possibly meaning the pre-production is done?

Now on September 9, the band updated its photo on Facebook to the one you see above. The last time the band updated its cover photo was a promotion thing for Abrahadabra. So at the very least we know for sure the band is writing a record and might possibly be done with pre-production… and headed to the studio very soon.
I'd say this might be grasping at straws, but I think we're getting a new record soon enough.
