Montreal's very own Dissimulator has announced the arrival of their debut album titled Lower Form Resistance. The record is slated for release on January 26, 2024, via 20 Buck Spin.
Dissimulator, formed by guitarist/vocalist Claude Leduc, bassist Antoine Daigneault, and drummer Philippe Boucher, brings together a wealth of musical experience, having previously graced the stages with bands like Chthe’ilist, Atramentus, Beyond Creation, and Incandescence. This collective expertise is evident in the intricate and jarring angular riffs that dominate Lower Form Resistance, seamlessly blending with the album's complex structures and atmosphere of exuberant incongruity.
The album's lead single, "Hyperline Underflow", serves as a beacon of hope amidst the bleak vision of a future where humanity is tethered to technology. The track delves into the possibility of new forms of life emerging from the neglected outer layers of a god-machine, setting the stage for a call to resistance against the cybernetic totality.
If you fancy taking a journey through a world of sci-fi death/thrash, evoking a Voivod-ian prescience of robotic sentience and technological doom, you can pre-order the album from the 20 Buck Spin webshop here or from Bandcamp at this location.
