Exhorder released two albums – Slaughter In The Vatican in 1990 and The Law in 1992 – before calling it quits. The band, arguably the originators of groove metal, has been on and off ever since 1992 and is finally back for what seems like a while now.
Exhorder has announced they've signed to Nuclear Blast and will begin preparing to release their first brand new studio album since The Law.
Here's what guitarist Vinnie LaBella had to say.
"What an incredible honour it is to be added to the Nuclear Blast family! We've had such a great year already, and now this! We are so proud and could not be in better company moving forward. We are excited for the future. We realize we turned in a couple of classics back in the day and it's been 27 years since we released our last record. And while those past successes are notable, we feel in our hearts like this new record will be our first record, and we couldn't have a better partner in NB to bring it to you. New management, new line up, new label, new record, new Exhorder!"
Exhorder is currently founding guitarist LaBella and founding vocalist Kyle Thomas, as well as bassist Jason Viebrooks (Year of the Tyrant, ex-Grip Inc.), drummer Sasha Horn (Year of the Tyrant, ex-Novembers Doom) and guitarist Marzi Montazeri (ex-Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals, ex-Superjoint Ritual).
