Last we heard, Fear Factory was aiming to have a new album out in summer 2017. Then a whole lot of nothing happened, followed by a rumor of a breakup and guitarist Dino Cazares saying there was no news to report about the band. Cazares and frontman Burton C. Bell went on to do some side projects and it seemed like that was that for Fear Factory.
Except now Bell tells MIRP411 that a new Fear Factory album is done and they're just waiting on some legal stuff to get sorted. Which is a very, very different story than what we've been guessing for the past year or so.
"Fear Factory has a record done. It's delivered to the label. We're just waiting for some legal technicalities [to be sorted out]. And the record'll be out next year."
Fear Factory's last known lineup was Cazares, Bell, drummer Mike Heller (ex-World Under Blood, ex-System Divide) and bassist Tony Campos (Ministry, Max & Iggor Cavalera, ex-Static-X). Fear Factory's new album will be their first since 2015's Genexus.
