2014 was a big year for Godflesh. The band released not only its first alum in 14 years, titled A World Lit Only By Fire, but also an EP called Decline & Fall. Now Godflesh is back once more with an album titled Post-Self, though you shouldn't expect the same ol' grinding, mechanically heavy-as-fuck Godflesh you've come to know over the years.
Godflesh are known as an industrial metal band, but their 8th album, Post-Self, sees them move away from metal and experiment with industrial and post-punk sounds, exploring what inspired them in the first place. Lyrically the album deals with anxiety and depression, fear, mortality and paternal and maternal relationships.
Post-Self will be out November 17 according to an Amazon listing, and we're sure you'll get to hear a new song off the effort soon! In the meantime, enjoy the sweet artwork below.
