This, the final Weekly Injection of 2017, includes some epic black metal, lots of death metal, and more! To the metals…
Asking Alexandria – Asking Alexandria
Genre: Metalcore
Origin: York, England
Label: Sumerian
This release is lots of metalcore with some djenty bits. The melodies and atmospheric moments drive this record. I feel like a majority of our readers will pass on this, but this would be a reasonable album to introduce to someone that's curious about heavier stuff. Records like this are important to ease new metalheads to the darkside.

Autopsy – Puncturing The Grotesque EP
Genre: Death metal
Origin: Oakland, California
Label: Peaceville
These long running death metal legends haven't released a full album since 2014, but seem to be into the whole EP thing because this is their second one since then. It includes seven jaunty tunes with titles like "Depths of Dehumanization," "The Sick Get Sicker," and a Bloodbath cover called "Fuck You!!!" which is a highlight.

Black Wail – Chromium Homes
Genre: Heavy metal/stoner
Origin: Jersey City, New Jersey
Label: Rhyme & Reason

This band reminds me a lot of Robot Hive/Exodus-era Clutch with a touch of Alice In Chains. They're bluesy at their core, but experiment quite a bit. A solid release that should appeal to our smoke loving readers and prog nerds alike.

Deathmarch – Dismember
Genre: Death metal
Origin: Netherlands
Label: Black Lion Records

When Bodyfarm's drummer straps on a guitar and joins forces with dudes that used to be in Baatezu and Cavitation, you get Deathmarch. The band sounds like a group that grew up loving old school death metal, because that's what this sounds like. Dismember is just an EP, so it's just the start of a band that I could see doing well in some circles after this.

Linkin Park – One More Light Live
Genre: Rock
Origin: Agoura Hills, California
Label: Warner Bros.
This live compilation sets out to recreate the live experience of what turned out to be Chester Bennington's last run with the band. It features a fair mix of old and new material recorded through 2017. Ultimately, this won't be the release to sway haters, but will be one that carries a lot of weight for fans.

Mist Of Misery – Fields Of Isolation
Genre: Black metal
Origin: Sweden
Label: Black Lion Records

Ending this week with some epic ass black metal. While still grim, it features plenty of atmosphere and symphonic elements. This is a beautiful record and one I could see popping up on end of year lists had it only dropped earlier.
