It's officially peanut butter trees season. Pardon me while I get fat. This edition includes tech, atmosphere, dissonance, and more! To the metals…
Baring Teeth – Ghost Chorus Among Old Ruins
Genre: Technical death metal
Origin: Dallas, Texas
Label: Willowtip
But now on Amazon.com
Weird, dark, and a little off-putting. These are compliments towards the latest Baring Teeth record. Like Gorguts if Gorguts threw all their melody away.
Stream it all here.
Cloudkicker – Live With Intronaut
Genre: Instrumental post rock/progressive
Origin: Columbus, Ohio/ Los Angeles, California
Label: Century Media
But now on Amazon.com
I was lucky enough to see one of these performances in person, and it was just as amazing as I expected. Ben Sharp and Intronaut capture all the emotion and elegance of Cloudkicker in a live setting. With this, everyone can now experience one of the shows. Could easily just sound like an at home Sharp recording with a crowd, but there is certainly a live element here.

Cripper – Hyena
Genre: Thrash/death metal
Origin: Hannover, Germany
Label: Metal Blade
But now on Amazon.com
Alright modern thrash that happens to be female-fronted. Good vocals, good musicianship, all alright, just not really unique.

Primordial – Where Greater Men Have Fallen
Genre: Folk/black metal
Origin: Dublin, Ireland
Label: Metal Blade
But now on Amazon.com
Epic Irish black metal for those ready for sport corpse paint into battle. Eight albums in, and more that twenty years into their career, and they are seeming to break through and get the respect they deserve. Hell, Kim Kelly had a review of this land in Rolling fucking Stone.

Thomas Giles – Modern Noise
Genre: Progressive
Origin: Raleigh, North Carolina
Label: Metal Blade
But now on Amazon.com
The voice of Between The Buried and Me is dropping his second solo album of not-quite metal tracks. While the technical madness of BTBAM is absent, Tommy knows how to right a compelling rock song with the adventurous spirit of the band he"s most know for.
