This week's new heavy metal releases includes a long-awaited return, symphonic stuff, and more!
To the metals…
Entombed A.D. – Bowels Of Earth
Genre: Death Metal/Death 'n' Roll
Origin: Stockholm, Sweden
Label: Century Media
The not-Entombed Entombed guys have returned! And this time, with a new guitarist in tow! New guitarist Guilherme Miranda wasn't in Entombed at any point though. So does he even count? While you ponder that, you can enjoy this groovy collection of death 'n' roll jams.

Imperium Dekadenz – When We Are Forgotten
Genre: Black metal
Origin: Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany
Label: Napalm
Imperium Dekadenz are a band in the old Wolves In The Throne Room realm. While Wolves have meandered to and from the black metal thing, these guys have kept at the grim, epic sound and continue to kill it. This album is as evil as it is beautiful.

Sons Of Apollo – Live With The Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony DVD/CD
Genre: Progressive metal
Origin: New York/California
Label: InsideOut
Sons of Apollo are already dropping a live album. This supergroup with Billy Sheehan, Mike Portnoy, Bumblefoot, Derek Sherinian, and Jeff Scott Soto only have an album and an EP. However, these guys play a lengthy set that dips into their older back-catalogs and covers. This three disc set includes lots of original material and their takes on some Dream Theater, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, Ozzy, and more. This of course is all with the Plovdiv "Psychotic Symphony."

Tarja – In The Raw
Genre: Symphonic metal/rock
Origin: Kitee, Finland
Label: earMusic
With this, the undisputed queen of symphonic metal is unleashing her fifth solo album, This actually ties her output with Nightwish. In The Raw is Tarja soaring to great heights like she always does, but this time her music is presented as the soundtrack to roller derby (peep the video below). Pretty metal.

Tool – Fear Inoculum
Genre: Progressive metal
Origin: Los Angeles, California
Label: RCA
The new Tool album is real and it's here. Do I really need to say more than that?

Visions Of Atlantis – Wanderers
Genre: Symphonic Power Metal
Origin: Bruck an der Mur, Austria
Label: Napalm
Let's end this week in an epic way. Visions of Atlantis dropped a live album earlier this year, and a full-length last year, but they're already back. This marks the first studio album with Michele Guaitoli on co-vocals. He and Clémentine Delauney proved they work really well on the stage earlier this year and in the studio, it's no different.
