The writer of the WEEKLY INJECTION has been kidnapped! Oh wait, no he hasn't, JK. Now you care about my posts right? Anywhoozle, This edition includes a misplaced shredder, that band you all hated for a week, an underrated band that just can't slow down and more! To the metals…
John 5 – Careful With That Axe
Genre: Instrumental shred
Origin: Grosse Pointe, Michigan
Label: 60 Cycle Hum
Buy now on Amazon.com
While he doesn't showcase his skills all too often in his main gig with Rob Zombie, his ever expanding collection of solo albums provides ample evidence of John 5's unbelievable ability. He is incredibly talented, and has the guitar wanking skills to prove it once again one Careful With That Axe.

Monsterworks – Overhaul
Genre: Progressive/Alternative Metal
Origin: Palmerston North, New Zealand
Label: Eat Lead and Die
Buy now on Bandcamp
This band is becoming incredibly prolific, and I like that about them. The band already dropped the fantastic Universe album earlier this year, and their already back with more difficult to classify metal that is uniquely Monsterworks. I cannot recommend this band's catalog enough.
Shaved Women – Just Death
Genre: Hardcore Punk
Origin: St. Louis, Missouri
Label: Ektro
Buy now on Bandcamp
Want to hear something weird? A band with the name "Shaved Women" gets you some pretty interesting Google results if you forget to tweak the search it a bit. Once I did find the band's material, I discovered a lo-fi hardcore/grindy band that is full of grime and attitude. Think Bad Acid Trip without the acid, but all the aggression.
Unisonic – Light of Dawn
Genre: Power metal
Origin: Hamburg, Germany
Label: Armoury
Buy now on Amazon.com
Look at the album's cover. You already know what this sounds like. If you guessed super epic power metal, you guessed correct! It's worth noting that the band features members past and present of pretty big power metal hitters like Helloween, Avantasia, Gamma Ray, Krokus, and more.

Upon a Burning Body – The World Is My Enemy Now
Genre: Deathcore
Origin: San Antonio, Texas
Label: Sumerian
Buy now on Amazon.com
This is that band that faked their singer's disappearance. I didn't know what they sounded like before that little stunt, so I suppose it did what it was supposed to. It's not my cup of tea, but it seems to be what all the youngsters are into. You know, all that deathcore with electronic beeps and boops/quasi-nu metal whatnot.
