Ihsahn is recording a new album! With the last three records being damn near perfect, it's hard not to get ecstatic about this one.
Last year we saw Ihsahn's Eremita, which wasn't so much announced by either himself or the label as it was a bunch of people finding the record being listed on Amazon and collectively freaking out. With that being released in June of 2012, nobody really expected anything out of him this year given his pace of one album every other year; or as we all know it, "the normal pace." Expectations have been greatly exceeded, as Ihsahn's wife's blog, Star of Ash, as posted a a few pictures of Ihsahn standing in front of a drum kit with Tobias of Leprous with the caption-

Well then, work away! The fact that he's already in the recording process makes me wonder where all this material came from. Not that I'm doubting the quality of his musicianship, but it's pretty astounding to have put out a record eight months ago and already be recording the next one. Maybe it's a shorter release or an EP? Or maybe he's working with Scion A/V to put out something short and free, which I certainly wouldn't doubt. The bottom line is that I really don't care how much material he's recording or on what medium it'll be out- the fact that new Ihsahn jams are in the works is amazing.

So yeah, autumn can get here now. That would be alright.
