Volumes hasn't exactly been super active in the past few years. Volumes has played 11 shows between 2023 and 2024, and hasn't released a new album since Happier? in 2021 (though we did get an EP called Bend(ed) in 2022). But fear not! According to founding Volumes bassist Raad Soudani, there's a new Volumes record in the works and it just might be their best effort to date.
"I'm really excited to get this next Volumes album out. The process has been very stressful given we're not as active as we used to be," wrote Soudani on X. "But I'm damn proud of it. As high up as fans hold VIA I beleive this is our greatest work. It encompasses everything about the Volumes sound."
Personally, I'm stoked. Volumes is easily one of the best djenty "Nouns" bands that came out of the 2010s and they've been consistently good despite a shifting lineup. Here's hoping this new Volumes record rules, right?
