Stone Sour never really disappeared, but since its last album, House of Gold And Bones, Pt. 2 in 2013, things have changed a little bit. Namely Christian Martucci took the guitar reins from original guitarist/Slipknot axeman Jim Root. Then in 2015 we got a double dose of the new lineup with two covers EP releases titled Meanwhile In Burbank… and Straight Outta Burbank.
Now it looks like the revamped lineup is working on its first LP sans Root on guitar, according to frontman Corey Taylor's Twitter anyway.

So who knows? Maybe 2016, maybe 2017 for a new record, but it certainly appears as though Stone Sour is up to something.
