Don't expect it until 2019.

Korn have been teasing the writing of their next album for quite a while now, and last night, August 9th was officially day one in the studio for album number #13.

Drummer Ray Luzier posted a photo from Nashville, Tennesee's Rock Falcon studios announcing he had begun tracking. The band is working with Nick Raskulinecz (who has worked with everyone from Foo Fighters to Deftones to Trivium). Munky was also in the studio as he captured this photo:

Korn have previously said that they hope to have the album released in Spring of 2019. Frontman Jonathan Davis gave WhatCulture a timeline of when everything is expected to be done:

"[Guitarists] Head and Munky have been writing with a couple different producers, working on riffs and putting them down, cataloguing everything. We're gonna get together as a band in July and start putting their ideas together in the studio and start working on it. So, yeah, it's in the future, definitely. When I get back after this European [solo] run, I start writing vocals for the stuff that they've done. We're gonna keep working through the year, so hopefully we'll have one out, probably, this time next year."

In a separate interview with Metal Hammer, Davis said he is feeling the material more than he did on the band's last album, The Serenity of Suffering:

“I’ve listened to a bunch of stuff. There’s been really good ideas, really cool grooves. It really doesn’t start taking place until I get there and glue all the shit together with the arrangements and put my vocals on it.

“But they’re working with different producers and we’re gonna do the record and we’ll see – I’m really excited for it.

“It doesn’t suck, I know that. I’m not going, ‘Go back, please.’ I’m more impressed on these than I was with Serenity Of Suffering, so…”
