KERRY KING Says If The JEFF HANNEMEN-Penned SLAYER Songs "Ain't Awesome, You're Not Gonna Hear It"

Slayer is in non-stop press mode to promote their currently headlining tour. A lot of questions have come up about the band's next album, in the wake of Jeff Hanneman's death.

Tom Araya has said there are two unfinished Jeff Hanneman songs on the table, which got all of us really excited. Not so fast, says Kerry King. He says the songs are incomplete and we might not ever get to hear 'em.

In a new video interview with Revolver, which you can see below, King elaborates saying he doesn't want to capitalize on Hanneman's death by putting out sub-par product:

"If we're gonna release things that Jeff wrote — I've seen other bands do it in the past, and it's generally not good," King says in the video. "I don't want it to be perceived like that. If we're gonna put out Jeff's last contributions in Slayer, if it ain't awesome, you're not gonna hear it."

I have to absolutely respect this decision. While it would be great to hear Hanneman's final songs, it would be terrible if the songs sucked. It would be a shitty last mark to leave for Hanneman and King does not want to do that. It's in line with previous statements by Tom Araya, who said this next album has to be extraordinary.
