Last year was a big year for Killswitch Engage. They reunited with their original vocalist, Jesse Leach, recorded a new album and did a fuck-ton of touring. It looks like 2013 will be equally huge for the band as they have just announced the release of their new album, their first with Leech on the mic in over 10 years.
The album will be called Disarm the Descent and is scheduled for a April 2nd release on Roadrunner Records. The first single off the record, "In Due Time" is scheduled for release about a month from today, on February 5th.
Of course, we've already heard a sampling of new Killswitch music when a demo was leaked last summer. The band has said that the rest of the album is actually heavier than the leak, which leads me to be quite excited about this release.
Jesse Leach was quoted in the press release touting the album release as saying:
"It is with a grateful spirit that we prepare for this record's release," Leach said. "From the music, to the lyrics, to the artwork, we are all proud of what we have accomplished. To me this is by far my best vocal performance, much thanks to Adam's guidance and faith in my abilities. I am very grateful to be where I am in life, back in an amazing band with a record we are all excited for the world to hear. Thanks to all the fans for their warm welcome back and their undying love for Killswitch Engage."
