MARILYN MANSON Says New Album Brings Back Antichrist Superstar Memories

Hello, 1996? Yeah, it's 2017. What's going on?

In February 2017, Marilyn Manson will be releasing his somewhat cleverly-titled album SAY10. Manson says he worked on the album in conjunction with composer Tyler Bates, who did the soundtrack to the upcoming Salem film. He also says the album is nothing like 2015's The Pale Emperor, which is simultaneously disappointing and intriguing, with the former being mentioned only because I liked that album.

Manson talks about his work on the movie Salem, and how it inspired him to go back to writing music like Antichrist Superstar, Manson's landmark 1996 album.

"It did bring back memories of creating Antichrist Superstar, which, strangely enough, October is the 20th anniversary of, I found the supernatural element of the show to be very authentic when I lived in New Orleans: the hoodoo, voodoo, all the Santeria, it was all very much a part of my surroundings when I was making the music I made down there. Maybe that kickstarted my mojo into making a new album."

So will 1996 Manson be making a return in 2017? We'll see… but man, that would be awesome.
