Northlane was recently in the studio with producer Will Putney (Fit For An Autopsy, End, Better Lovers) working on new material for a future album.
The band shared the following via an Instagram post: "Before we began the Monsters of Oz tour over in the United States, we flew over early to reunite with an old friend Will Putney, and we recorded some new music. The songs were born from a tumultuous period for the band, but we took our time with them, and the way they've turned out has exceeded every expectation we had of ourselves."
"Beyond that, we've been privileged enough to collaborate with some artists who've been elemental in their influence of this band over the years. We have not been this excited or proud about a new creation in a very long time. A new era will begin soon.”
In a recent interview with The Music, vocalist Marcus Bridge offered: "We've cherry-picked our favourite sounds from Northlane's discography. This new music feels like a refined version of everything we've done up until now, and a step into the future for us, finding even more new avenues to explore.”
When asked about the decision of working with Will Putney again, guitarist Jon Deiley explained: "We last worked with Will in Australia for the Equinox EP and the time before that was probably in 2014 recording Node. We decided to work with Will again because we were after a sound that was a little less polished and more aggressive sounding for the music we were writing."
