Recently we reported that Old Man Gloom alluded to being in the studio via some pictures they'd posted but not a whole lot else. Now we know exactly what's up!
Old Man Gloom, the all-star group featuring Aaron Turner of Isis, Nate Newton of Converge/Doomriders, Caleb Scofield of Cave In and Santos Montano of Zozobra, can be a tricky bunch to follow when it comes to new jams. Fortunately Turner took to his blog to clear up the whole situation:
“Old Man Gloom has commenced work on new recordings. These will appear in the form of a new album via Profound Lore (digital), and SIGE Records (analog) in 2014. Phase One was completed as of 12/13/13. The group will reconvene for Phase Two in 06/14. Kurt Ballou is presiding over the production activity sector. The Gloom Group in this formation consists of AT, SM, CS and NN. Thank you.”
While it sucks that we'll have to wait until late 2014 or even early 2015 to hear some new material from the group, it's extra awesome they're working with Kurt Ballou! So I guess we'll see come later on next year.
