Back in the fall of 2014, while guitarist Richard Kruspe was promoting his excellent side project, Emigrate, he made it seem like we won't be seeing Rammstein for a while, which he reiterated when we interviewed him.
It seemed to ring even truer, when frontman Till Lindemann announced a solo project this year, a weird collection of songs he created in collaboration with Hypocrisy's Peter Tagtgren. Tagtgren was interviewed by Bloody Disgusting about the project, and when asked what's next, he revealed that Till will be a bit pre-occupied:
Till is going to go back to Rammstein in September to begin pre-production stuff and he says that it usually takes two years from when they start until the album is done.
Whoa! That's some huge news. Sure, we wouldn't get anything until 2017, but at least progress will begin. Of course, until we hear it directly from the band, it's worth taking with a grain of salt.
Otherwise, if you're curious about the new project, definitely check out the Bloody Disgusting interview, as it has a lot of good insight in the production.
