The time for new Revocation is coming! According to Revocation guitarist and vocalist David Davidson in an interview with Heavy Mag, the new record will be out in September followed by both U.S. and European tours. Davidson said the new record is nine songs of nothing but diabolical death metal, and later added that "we took our listeners to outer space, on this one we're going straight to hell."
"It's 9 songs of pure, diabolical death metal," he said. "It's got some fast rippers, but there's also some super heavy mid-paced bangers on there and of course a healthy dose of prog weirdness. If you liked the last album, this one will be right up your alley. The artwork was done by Paolo Girardi, I think he really captured the vibe quite well. We also had Jens Bogren mix and master it, it was our first time working with him, and he totally knocked it out of the park. The album sounds very organic but also has that modern punch to it."
The new Revocation record will be the band's first since the departure of guitarist Dan Gargiulo in 2020. The band is currently operating as a trio, with former Skeletal Remains guitarist Noah Young filling in with them live. Davidson also mentions that Revocation will debut one of the new songs at the coming Blacken Open Air 2022 taking place between July 29 and August 1 at Ross River Resort. Check that out here.
No other information about the album is available right now, but consider us plenty stoked!
