Arkansas doom masters Rwake are re-releasing their first ever demo, Xenoglossalgia: The Last Stage of Awareness, in February via Relapse Records, and I am pretty fucking excited about that.
It was released in 1998, when the band were in their early 20's, then re-released through House of Mummble in 2004. The demo was completely remastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, High On Fire, Integrity), and will be the first time that the demo is available outside the band's hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas, the same Hell that spawned Evanescence.
The album is out everywhere on February 9, 2015, except Germany, where it comes out three days earlier on February 6. Limited edition LPs and CDs will come in "an insane 3D cover complete with 3D glasses."
The five minute excerpt from the 45-minute song "Calibos/So Fucking Tired" features everything you would except in any Rwake release: Charles Manson samples, ominous bass tones, and sludge-filled riffs. At a certain point, the band almost sounds like Emperor.
