Satyricon is working on their first proper studio album since Deep Calleth Upon Deep in 2017. Though it's not like Satyricon has been completely quiet since then. In 2022, the band released Satyricon & Munch, which was written as a massive instrumental piece for an art exhibition at the Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway. But it sounds like the band is back to making full-on black metal albums once again.
"Back at it with Satyricon after a small summer break," said Satyricon's Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven. "We keep working on a new album that will be ready spring/summer next year."
