Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, hands down one of the best retro-metal acts of the century, will release their fifth full-length album Wastelands on October 12 via Rise Records. Guitarist and vocalist Kevin Starrs says the new album addresses what he feels is a lack of harmonies in modern music, specifically heavy music.
"There's not enough melody or harmony in new music for my liking. I wanted to go even further with all of that this time, and really force it down people's throats! It's important to me that someone keeps it going, especially in heavy music. I always write to my own tastes, so as long as it appeals to me, I don't really think about it. But I would say that it's all been an instinctive progression."
Wastelands was engineered by Geoff Neal (Nine In Nails, Motorhead) and recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles. Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats will play the Desert Days Festival in Lake Perris, CA, the weekend of October 12. It'll also be their only North American show of 2018.
