Venom is one of the handful of classic rock and metal bands that currently has two iterations. There's Venom, which is fronted by Conrad "Cronos" Lant, and then there's Venom Inc., which features original Venom members Jeff "Mantas" Dunn and Anthony "Abaddon" Bray, as well as Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan.
Venom Inc. is about to tour with Municipal Waste, while Venom has a whole slew of new material ready to go, according to Cronos in an interview with Metal Rules. Cronos says there's about three songs ready to go for a new EP, which was initially delayed because vinyl plants are so damn backed up right now.
"Everybody is buying fucking vinyl, and it's really hard to get the pressings. The label was doing one, but we couldn't get in. So, we kind of just put it back a bit. But the EP will get released this year, and then the album gets released in 2018. So, you'll hear from the EP the direction, about is pretty much where we are now."
This will be the band's first release since 2015's From the Very Depths.
