Yesterday, we learned that Babymetal has a new third member. Former member Yuimetal left the band in 2017 over health concerns and a desire to eventually pursue a solo career. Riho Sayashi, formerly of pop group Morning Musume, had appeared with the band live twice – at Yokohama Arena in Japan, and their first UK set in over one year at the Glastonbury festival this past weekend.
Now the band have made it official with the release of their new music video, with Riho dancing with the band. In the comments of the post announcing the new third member, a fan clarified the storyline:
BABYMETAL revealed at the Yokohama Arena shows that they set up a group of 3 what they call "Avengers" that are going to fill in the third spot. Riho Sayashi is one, she was with SU-METAL at the performing arts school Hiroshima Actors School when they were kids.
Kano Fujihira is another one, she performed at the other Yokohama arena show with them last night(June 29). She is from Sakura Gakuin, the group that BABYMETAL spawned out of.
And the last one has not yet been revealed.
They have not said if this "Avengers" setup is permanent or just a temporary thing.
