Black Lung was all ready to hit the road in 2020 with new guitarist Dave Fullerton. Then the pandemic hit, the insurrection happened, and basically everything sucked. With all that in mind, Black Lung began writing the songs that would comprise their new record Dark Waves. We're stoked to premiere the band's new single "Hollow Dreams" today, which as you might've guessed isn't the most cherry thing you've ever heard. But it does kick ass.
"Climate change is real," said the band. "This is considered a controversial and political statement. While this track could be seen as a metaphor for quite a few things, the frustration of politicizing facts was weighing heavily on me when I wrote this. Musically, I was listening to a ton of Mars Red Sky at the time, so this riff is a sort of an ode to them."
