Indian nü-metal torchbearers Bloodywood is back with a new record Nu Dehli out March 21, and a very cooking-centric new single "Tadka". It's tough to write the rest of this article after having watched the video for "Tadka" because now I'm fucking starving, but here we go.
"'Tadka' is a metal tribute to Indian food," said Bloodywood of the new track. "The word 'Tadka' is a cooking process in Indian cuisine where spices are heated in hot oil or ghee to create a more aromatic flavor… It's about going the extra mile in the pursuit of a greater flavor.
"The song highlights the multi-faceted chaos of Indian kitchens that are tasked with perfectly executing centuries-old recipes on a daily basis as well as the immense joy they brings to most people. Bloodywood notes they've got plans to tour the US sometime this year, which I will only accept if they promise to cook for fans prior to every show. Would that be a giant pain in the ass? Absolutely. But they brought this upon themselves and I don't feel bad.
