The skate world has doubled down on its love of black metal recently as Norwegian pro skater Kevin Bækkel's latest Thrasher Magazine part is set to the soundtrack of Darkthrone's "Fucked Up And Ready To Die."
"A savage Norwegian metal soundtrack is the perfect pairing for an absolute lunatic on urethane," says Thrasher Magazine in their social media captions. "Baekkel is out for blood. Get the hell out of his way."
Bækkel lands some seriously sick tricks in gnarly spots around the world including Philadelphia's FDR Park, featured in several of the Tony Hawk video games.
He even gets into a shoving match with a Catholic bishop for skating where he shouldn't. Stay tuned for that ender, because WHOA — it's one hell of a grind.
This isn't the first time the skate world has made black metal its soundtrack in 2019, either.
Last month, Australian-based skate store Boardworld released an advertisement for Anthony Van Engelen's signature Vans Ave Pro shoe featuring Xasthur's "Screaming at Forgotten Fears" blazing in the background.
