Deafheaven has taken a hard left turn away from their calmer, more shoegaze-influenced last record Infinite Granite on their new single "Magnolia". The single leans way harder into songs like "From the Kettle Onto the Coil" and "Black Brick", and is frankly completely fucking vicious. I love it! The single comes alongside a video co-directed by Sean Stout and Chelsea Jade.
Deafheaven will release their debut on Roadrunner Records named Lonely People With Power on March 28. Lonely People With Power was recorded with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen and was mixed by Zach Weeks of GodCity Studio. Lonely People With Power includes additional vocal contributions from Jae Matthews of Boy Harsher and Paul Banks of Interpol.
