Artist Robert Vargas is working on a mural of Eddie Van Halen outside the Guitar Center in Hollywood, CA. The mural will be unveiled on January 26, which would've been Eddie's 66th birthday.
Vargas said in an interview with KXFM 104.7 (above) he's excited to unveil the mural.
“We’re really excited about doing that on that day and really giving it to the world,” he said. “This will be the premiere Eddie Van Halen mural in the States, really, but especially here in Hollywood where they made their bones.”
According to multiple sources, Van Halen was plotting a massive farewell tour a few years back that unfortunately never came to fruition due to Eddie's health. Eddie's son Wolfgang has also made it super clear the band will not carry on without Eddie, though there may be a tribute concert in the future.
