Multi-faceted Belgian Belgian dark metal outfit Emptiness is nothing short of fascinating, entertaining, and highly experimental. Reminiscent of 80s dark-wave, their third and final single, "Vide, Incomplet", from their upcoming album Vide (French for "empty" -I'm sensing a theme) is as beautiful as it is anxiety inducing.
The video itself is like a dystopian carnival. The album is meant is meant to invoke feelings of claustrophobia. The band recorded the album in confined or isolated spaces like apartments or a cabin in the woods, and sometimes on a city roof. Involvement was strictly limited to the band members who took care of all audio production and visuals work, with the pandemic adding an extra layer of isolation.
Fully dissolutioned with the world, Emptiness comments on the track, simply, "Humans are fun."
Vide is due out February 12th. Pre-orders are now available HERE.
