High on Fire vocalist and guitarist Matt Pike and bassist Jeff Matz are the latest to participate in Amoeba Music's What's In My Bag? record shopping series. While the band's choices in records are interesting enough, Pike also reveals that High on Fire is working on a new album during the interview.
"We're gonna be working on a new album and you can see where things are going. We gotta have weird influences, you know? Like, I'm buying all metal stuff. I can't listen to other music for a while if I'm writing. I'm too influenced by things."
The new High on Fire album will be their first ever without drummer Des Kensel. No replacement for Kensel has yet been announced, though Chris Maggio (Wear Your Wounds, ex-Trap Them, ex-Coliseum) has been filling his spot since 2019.
