Devin Townsend's brand new record Empath is finally available worldwide and people really seem to be loving it (including our reviewer Jordan Blum). Empath is a lot to take in upon first listen, but is definitely worth the journey. If you haven't been keeping up with the singles, or you just need a good song to hear first, check out the new, galactic music video for "Spirits Will Collide." Great song, equally great video.
To recap, Empath features Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering, Vuur, etc.), Che Dorval (Casualties Of Cool), Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Steve Vai, Mike Keneally (Dethklok), Morgan Ågren (Kaipa, Casualties of Cool), Anup Sastry (ex-Skyharbor, Marty Friedman), Elliot Desgagnés (Beneath The Massacre, Conflux), Nathan Navarro and Sam Paulicelli (Decrepit Birth). It's also Townsend's first record outside Devin Townsend Project, which he ended in 2018 due to lack of interest.
Townsend recently revealed Empath cost him somewhere around $170,000 to make. So maybe consider grabbing a copy if you haven't already.
